  • Date and Time: Tuesday, September 16th, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm (meeting may extend slightly beyond the scheduled end time)
  • Location: Museum, third floor of Picayune City Hall

Members and guests are encouraged to attend this special meeting to engage with the ongoing initiatives of the Pearl River Historical Society Museum. Your participation is valuable as we work together to preserve and celebrate the heritage of Pearl River County and its neighboring communities.

For security reasons, all participants are requested to gather either by the fountain or inside the lobby of City Hall. Once assembled, attendees will proceed together as a group to the third floor for the meeting.

During the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a snack lunch, listen to a brief presentation, participate in a discussion of a local history topic and take part in museum related tasks. And, of course, tour the museum.  

Discussion Topic

  • The settlements that became known as Picayune, Mississippi:

Attendees will participate in a focused discussion exploring the origins and development of the communities that eventually formed Picayune. This session will invite reflection on local history and encourage members to share insights, stories, and research related to the growth of the area.
